Finding bargain plays is paramount to success in NBA FanDuel fantasy basketball as the stars you really want to play are incredibly expensive. Here's a look at the top five value plays for Jan. 12.

DeMar DeRozan is not returning from injury this evening, so James Johnson should start and see 25 minutes minimum. At his price, he essentially only needs 25 fantasy points to hit five times his value, which he should do with utter ease against the Detroit Pistons' suspect defense.

4. PG Marcus Smart - Boston Celtics - $3,900

Marcus Smart has been a sneaky-good play since the Boston Celtics traded away Rajon Rondo. He's played between 21-31 minutes in four straight games, and has averaged nearly 10 PPG on the floor. He will sprinkle in a few boards and drop a few dimes as a PG, giving him 25-point upside -- over six times the value at his near-minimum price.

3. PF Channing Frye - Orlando Magic - $3,600

Channing Frye is someone who I won't consider most nights despite his near minimum price because he is impossibly inconsistent. However, the Orlando Magic are short-staffed and Kyle O'Quinn has been awful lately, so Frye should get the start at PF and see over 25 minutes. He doesn't have incredible upside, but should hit 20 fantasy points as a punt play.

2. SF Jae Crowder - Boston Celtics - $3,900

Jae Crowder will draw another start for the Boston Celtics, which makes him an appealing option considering his near-minimum price. Anytime you can roster someone who is starting for his team at $3,900 it is typically a no-brainer. While he is never going to overwhelm, 20 fantasy points is adequate for the price.

1. SG - Roy Devyn Marble - Orlando Magic - $3,600

With Tobias Harris and Evan Fournier out for the Orlando Magic, Marble will draw his second career NBA start. He was solid in his first with six points, an outstanding five steals, two assists and three rebounds in 25 minutes. While expecting five steals again would be silly, he is going to exceed value at his near minimum price considering he will see at least 25 minutes.
