The trade market in fantasy sports, whether it be football, basketball, baseball or any other sport, is like the New York stock exchange. Values rise and fall on a daily basis, which is why if you have a valuable commodity, you absolutely need to see what it's worth on the trade market. When it comes to Chicago Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler, it may be better to strike now while the iron is still hot.

Don’t get me wrong, Butler has produced at a high level this season, but it was unrealistic for a career 43 percent shooter to shoot close to 50 percent of his throughout the season. His shooting percentage and points production have already decreased each month of the season, leading me to believe his scoring output will continue to dip as the season progresses.

Another problem with Butler is that as the season goes on and Derrick Rose gets more comfortable, he will take on a bigger load of the offense. Not to mention, All-Star power forward Pau Gasol will continue to get his touches as well, making Butler the third option at best, which hurts his value as times goes on.

The fact that Butler plays more than 38 minutes a night is a good thing for fantasy owners, but it may not be a good thing for his scoring output. It’s definitely possible that his decreased shooting percentage is directly related to the load of minutes he plays every night.

The great thing about Butler is that he can contribute to a fantasy team in many ways and is very reliable, so that means it won't be unrealistic at all when you ask for a big talent in return.

Whether it’s Butler or a player like LeBron James, no player is untouchable in the fantasy trade market. Even though Butler may bring you a lot of value right now, his stock is officially at its peak at the current time. It may begin to fall in the near future, so the time to capitalize is now to ensure you get the biggest possible return on investment.
