Building the Perfect NBA FanDuel Lineup For Jan. 30

The landscape of daily fantasy basketball has been very frustrating for many players lately. I'm sure that many are waiting for the All-Star Break to get here so they can get a break from the late scratches, weird coach decisions, etc. However, we're not there yet and there are nine games to sift through on FanDuel tonight. It's still possible to build the perfect lineup, so let's take a look at one of the ways to accomplish this.

9. (PG) Jeff Teague - Atlanta Hawks - $7,900

After a slew of games where it seemed like he was scoring no less than 37 fantasy points during any given contest, Jeff Teague has slowed down a bit over his most recent games. Over his last four games, he has averaged 31.1 fantasy points and wasn't exactly justifying his price. Tonight, he gets to face a Portland Trail Blazers team that's been really struggling against PGs lately. Teague should score at least 35 with 40-plus upside.

8. (PG) Mario Chalmers - Miami Heat - $5,400

Dwyane Wade and Luol Deng are both expected to be out for the Miami Heat's matchup against the Dallas Mavericks tonight. Therefore, this should increase the offensive usage of Mario Chalmers, and he should be able to take advantage of that against a Dallas Mavericks team that is currently struggling against opposing PGs. Over his last two games, "Super Mario" has averaged 32.4 fantasy points, and I like him to score 30-plus tonight.

7. (SG) James Harden - Houston Rockets - $11,200

Over his last five games, The Beard has averaged 52.8 fantasy points and continues to be a legit MVP candidate for this season. Although his matchup against the Boston Celtics isn't the greatest since Avery Bradley is a solid defender, Harden is still an elite option and his $ 11,200 price proves that. With the news that Dwight Howard will be out tonight, I see no reason for Harden not to score at least 45 with 55-plus upside.

6. (SG) Eric Gordon - New Orleans Pelicans - $5,700

Over his last 10 games, Eric Gordon has averaged 26.5 fantasy points and has really benefited from the absence of Jrue Holiday. Although his opponent, the Los Angeles Clippers, defends the SG position well, I like Gordon for two reasons tonight. The first has been his increased usage, and the second is the revenge factor involved since he started his career with the Clippers. I'm not expecting a 30-plus performance, but he should be good for 28.

5. (SF) Chandler Parsons - Dallas Mavericks - $6,000

Over his last seven games, Chandler Parsons has averaged 24 fantasy points and his current price requires him to score 30 to reach value. I really like his chances to flirt with a 30-plus performance tonight against a Miami Heat team that's average at guarding SFs, and their best wing defender, Luol Deng, has been ruled out. Therefore, Parsons will face less defensive pressure and should score at least 27 tonight. However, I say he eclipses 30.

4. (SF) Matt Barnes - Los Angeles Clippers - $5,100

I normally don't like choosing Matt Barnes, as he can either score 13 or 30-plus on any given night and it's hard to gauge when those will happen. However, in a matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans and their defense against SFs that's currently ranked 27th, I will take plunge with Barnes tonight. He needs to score 25.5 to reach value and has averaged 25 over his last six games. Therefore, I like him to score between 25 and 35 tonight.

3. (PF) Thaddeus Young - Minnesota Timberwolves - $6,800

Over his last five games, this former Georgia Tech standout has averaged 33.6 fantasy points and gets to face his former team in the Philadelphia 76ers tonight. The Sixers struggle at defending all positions and, regardless of their recent anomaly performances of decent defense, they're still highly exploitable. I like Young to score no less than 30 fantasy points tonight, and it wouldn't surprise me if he flirted with a 40-burger.

2. (PF) Donatas Motiejunas - Houston Rockets - $5,400

Donatas Motiejunas remains a very consistent, yet underrated, option in the daily fantasy game. Even with the return of Terrence Jones, Motiejunas shouldn't see his minutes get affected much. Additionally, especially for tonight, he should see some extra minutes with Dwight Howard ruled out. Facing a small Boston frontcourt that defends PFs poorly should make it easy for him to score at least 27 with 30-plus upside.

To say that Joakim Noah is feeling better after nursing his ankle and knee injuries would be an understatement. Over his last two games, he has averaged 46 fantasy points and has said that he feels the best he has all season. This is great news for us and bad news for the Phoenix Suns, who currently rank second to last against opposing centers. I don't feel that Noah will go off for 40-plus again, but he should have no issues scoring 30-plus.
