The Washington Wizards are surging right now, as they are 31-20 and third place in the Eastern Conference standings. John Wall has been a major reason for the team’s success, and in the process, the point guard has put up fantasy basketball MVP numbers.

Wall is scoring at a clip of 17.5 points per game, which is tops on the team. He is also shooting 46.3% from the field, which is even more impressive considering he is taking 14.1 shots per game. He has become an elite scoring option from the one-spot.

Wall is also doing work with the ball. He is averaging a healthy 10.2 assists per contest, which is currently the best in the entire league. The veteran has always made the most of Washington’s lack of stars roster, but he has taken it to a new level this season.

JW is also grabbing 4.4 rebounds per game. There aren’t many point guards in the game capable of working the glass like Wall. He is also posting 2.0 steals per game and is putting up strong fantasy numbers on both sides of the court.

Wall may not be the front-runner for the fantasy MVP with LeBron James and James Harden stealing the majority of the votes so far, but the point guard is having a phenomenal season in his own right. He deserves to be in the conversation for the fantasy MVP in 2015.
