Danica won the pole for the Daytona in 2013, but she placed 40th here last year after starting back in 27th. She is far from a strong fantasy option, and even though she will have a lot of eyes on her this weekend, she may not even finish the race this year.

Johnson is the two-time winner (2006 and 2013) of the Daytona 500, but he hasn't always performed well in the opening race of the year. He finished 42nd in 2012, 27th in 2011, 35th in 2010, 31st in 2009, 27th in 2008 and 39th in 2007. Which Jimmie Johnson will show up this Sunday?

Earnhardt Jr. did his daddy proud last year by winning the Daytona 500 for the second time in his career; the other time being back in 2004. Earnhardt has also racked up a handful of second place finishes in this race, so Junior's performance will be heavily scrutinized this Sunday.

Gordon shocked the NASCAR world by claiming that this would be his last full-time season on the Sprint Cup Circuit. He has nothing to lose this year, so he is supposed to by going all out in every race. Is all the hype swirling around the Rainbow Warrior justified?
