The Miami Dolphins are a team on the rise after adding guys like Ndamukong Suh on defense, along with Kenny Stills, Jordan Cameron and DeVante Parker on offense. Although QB Ryan Tannehill has plenty of options, RB Lamar Miller is still the most important skill player of the unit as we approach the 2015 campaign. Miller will be a force to be reckoned with in 2015 fantasy football.

In 2014, Miller received over 200 carries (216) for the first time in his three-year career. He accumulated 1,099 yards, which was good for an outstanding 5.1 yards per carry average that rendered him tied for second among running backs behind only Justin Forsett (5.4).

Miller finished the season with eight TDs on the ground, and he also developed into a reliable option in the passing attack out of the backfield, making 38 receptions for 275 yards and one touchdown.

With a tight end to command attention in Cameron and additions to the receiving corps, it’s going to be incredibly difficult for opposing defenses to stack the box against the Dolphins in 2015. Thus, despite being in the bottom 10 in rushing attempts last season, it’s fair to assume Miller will be seeing a substantial amount of carries.

Miami doesn’t have a ton of talent breathing down Miller’s neck at the position. Damien Williams projects to win the No. 2 role, but he’s an NFL sophomore who the Dolphins signed as an undrafted rookie last season. LaMichael James is not built to handle a heavy workload at the position and won’t be seeing many carries.

Rookie Jay Ajayi carries some intrigue, but he’s a project at best who won’t be making a significant impact this season. Thus, we’re going to see a ton of Miller this season, especially considering his prowess for production as a receiver.

Currently, Miller is ranked as the RB15 according to the FantasyPros charts and carries an ADP of 36. This means more often than not, you’ll be able to draft Miller at the end of the third round or beginning of the fourth in 12-team leagues. You can’t ask for more upside from an RB2 considering where he’ll be drafted.

I foresee Miller finishing with 1,200 yards rushing and 10 TDs on the ground, to go along with 375 yards receiving and two TDs through the air. Miller is undoubtedly a “buy” candidate in 2015 — don’t miss out.
