5 Biggest Sleepers At RB In 2016 Fantasy Football

As the month of May winds down, fantasy football time for 2016 is fast approaching. At this early stage, here are my five biggest fantasy sleepers at the running back position for this year.

5. Jerick McKinnon, Minnesota Vikings

McKinnon's role increased late last season, and he is averaging 4.9 yards per carry over his first two seasons. He is a priority handcuff at minimum, with Adrian Peterson being 31 years old, and McKinnon could easily be a stand-alone fantasy asset.

4. T.J. Yeldon, Jacksonville Jaguars

Yeldon was banged up during his rookie season, which spurred the Jaguars to sign Chris Ivory. Even with limited touchdown upside, if Ivory is healthy, Yeldon did enough last year (4.1 yards per carry, 36 catches) to be a fantasy sleeper for 2016.

3. Kenneth Dixon, Baltimore Ravens

Dixon had 72 rushing touchdowns during his career at Louisiana Tech, with pass-catching ability (64 receptions over his final two seasons). He could earn significant playing time right away, with only Justin Forsett, Buck Allen and others in the way.

2. Tevin Coleman, Atlanta Falcons

A disappointing rookie season opened the door for Devonta Freeman to become a top-tier fantasy running back, but the Falcons remain high on Coleman. He may start the season No. 2 on the depth chart, but Coleman is in line to outperform his ADP.

1. Duke Johnson, Cleveland Browns

Johnson had 61 receptions as a rookie, and he should easily surpass his 104 carries from last year under head coach Hue Jackson. Backfield mate Isaiah Crowell could fit this list, but Johnson's place as my top running back sleeper is secure.
