Point Guard

John Wall $19,850

Wall and the Wizards will take on the Thunder tonight, in what figures to be a very fast paced and competitive game. Wall has been playing great lately and has been extremely consistent. Westbrook is obviously a fantastic offensive player, but is not nearly as good on defense. John Wall has played well against Westbrook in the past, topping 60 fantasy points multiple times. Wall has the 9th highest usage in the NBA and does a great job making sure he is always in control of the offense. This is my favorite game on this slate, and I will have a ton of exposure. While the price is definitely up there on DraftDay, he has the floor and ceiling to pay it off. He can be deployed in both cash games and tournaments, and look for him to have another dominant game.

Dennis Schroder $12,950

Schroder gets the honor of facing off with Damian Lillard, who has been a horrible defender all season long. With a DefRtf of -1.4, Isaiah Thomas is the only PG who has been worse. Schroder has definitely slowed from his torrid start, but is still playing good minutes and getting plenty of production. This is another game that is expected to be close, and Schroder has the upside to play huge minutes. His price is also way too low, sitting next to guys like Reggie Jackson and Victor Oladipo. Schroder is one of my favorite cash game plays on the board, and has unquestioned upside in tournaments.

Shooting Guard

Brad Beal $13,750

Brad Beal is just way too cheap on DraftDay, along with everywhere else in the industry. This is a guy who can put up 30 in his sleep and will do so if he remains healthy. John Wall has also done a great job of getting them both involved. Even though they take most of the shots, they never play with animosity and always seem to flow quite well. Beal will look to continue his torrid pace, against Victor Oladipo’s defense. Oladipo is a very average defender, and Beal won’t have any problems getting open. Beal is one of my top plays on the slate and will be on almost all of my teams.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope $10,350

Shooting guard against the Bucks. That’s really all that needs to be said. Since the shift and return of Dellavedova, the Bucks have been the absolute worst team in the league against SG’s. Giving up 4 games over 40 fantasy points in the last 6 games, you have to give a long hard look at KCP. Caldwell-Pope went extremely cold from 3 last game, but hit the game-winner, which should give him the confidence to keep throwing them up. Van Gundy has a lot of trust instilled in KCP and he should see another game over 34 minutes. Caldwell-Pope is certainly a bit risky, but I don’t hate him in cash games and is obviously a tremendous option in tourneys.

Small Forward

Gordon Hayward $14,000

Gordon Hayward is one of my favorite guys in the NBA, mostly due to his great consistency and high usage. He faces off with the Clippers tonight, who have struggled mightily against small forwards. With Chris Paul out, this entire defense has taken a hit, and have ranked in the bottom 5 vs SF’s in the past 30 days. Hayward has been amazing over the last few games, topping 40 in his last 2. This is the best match-up he will see since then and will pay off. You can lock him in for 35 fantasy points, with an upside over 50. He can be deployed in both cash games and tournaments.

James Johnson $11,750

Johnson is definitely seeing his price increase, but rightfully so. This is a guy the Heat have relied on, and he has been nothing short of miraculous. The Magic are a good match-up for Johnson, who relies on rebounds, assists, and steals for upside. He has been over 40 fantasy points a few times recently, and wouldn’t be surprised to see an encore here. He will see the defense of Serge Ibaka and Aaron Gordon, who will both struggle to stay with Johnson and his versatile game. Johnson can be deployed in all formats and should get you an easy 30.

Power Forward

Anthony Davis $21,050

Anthony Davis is one of the best players in the league and faces off with one of the absolute worst interiors around. They will also be without Tyson Chandler, who is the only guy who stands a chance. In turn, Davis will see the defense of Alex Len and Alan Williams. Both of those guys are way under-skilled, and could easily give up a 70 spot to Davis. While his price is up there, he is 4k cheaper than Westbrook and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Davis finish with more fantasy points. This is an ideal spot for Davis, who has as much upside as anyone in the game. He is the top option at PF in both cash games and tournaments.

Paul Millsap $15,850

Paul Millsap is one of the more consistent players in the NBA, which is something you will need tonight. With so many uncertainties, a guy like Millsap is a great target in cash games. He doesn’t have anywhere near the upside of a Jokic or AD, but also has a floor that not many can match. He gets a match up with the Blazers who are short-handed, let alone putrid against big men. They traded away Mason Plumlee for Jusuf Nurkic, who may not be ready to make his debut tonight. That would leave 2 or 3 under-skilled big men, and Millsap will go nuts. He is a lock in my cash games and will be pretty popular in tournaments as well.

Center

Nikola Jokic $16,550

Jokic is easily my favorite player in the league, but I promise this recommendation has no bias. Jokic has been incredible as of late, finishing with 43, 52 and 61 over his last 3. He faces off with the Warriors tonight, in a game with an insane 239 over/under. The Warriors will throw a combo of Draymond Green and Kevon Looney. Neither of which have any chance of success and Jokic is going to eat. He is also a bit too cheap, as he should be 1k or 2k higher. Jokic is my favorite play on this slate, and I’ll be willing to go down with the ship. He will be in almost all of my lineups, in both cash games and tournaments.

Alex Len $8,650

Tyson Chandler is currently doubtful, which should lead to Len playing big minutes. Len has always been a guy that is extremely productive when on the court, and I don’t think the Pelicans are the team to stop him. Len hit 6x last game against the Rockets, though the minutes were a bit crazy. He should see at least 28 minutes here, which is good news considering he has averaged over 1 FP per minute over his career. He will look to take advantage of this opportunity and should be able to have a nice game here. He may match up with Anthony Davis, which could cause foul trouble. That is the only reason I am a little bit hesitant. In tournaments, you can also consider Alan Williams.
