Point Guard

Kemba Walker $17,050

Kemba and the Hornets will host the Cavs tonight in what will be one of the more challenging games of the season. Fortunately for Kemba, he has the easiest match-up possible with Kyrie Irving. Irving is easily the weakest defender on the Cavs and has allowed nearly 49 FP per game to opposing PG’s. Walker has been playing pretty well lately and his shot is definitely falling. He will be able to get open and to the rim with ease and it’ll just be a matter of whether or not the Hornets can stay anywhere close. Walker has played better at home too, averaging nearly a full 3 points and 2 assists more. Kemba is the only real chance for them to stay close, so you can expect Walker to ball hog a little bit and try to get himself going. Nicolas Batum is the SG here, so the Cavs definitely won’t be able to switch anyone else onto Walker, because Irving definitely can’t guard Batum or MKG. Walker is a tad bit risky due to the blowout, but should be just fine and hit value in both cash games and tournaments.

Rajon Rondo $11,850

Rondo was pushed back down to 28 minutes after a back to back with the Raptors where Rondo played 40 minutes, including overtime. You can expect his minutes to go back up in the 30’s after a few days of rest. The Bulls are still in must-win mode and Rondo is obviously their best hope at PG. He has been playing well with Butler and the chemistry has showed over the last few. The 76ers are one of the weaker defensive teams in the league and Rondo will have no problem dicing them up. There is no individual defender I’m scared of and I think Rondo is extremely safe here. The upside is obviously there as well, so I’ll have him in both cash games and tournaments on DraftDay.

Shooting Guard

James Harden $25,000

Yep, it’s real hard to recommend the most expensive option on the slate, I know. Harden is going to have another big game here but I don’t really care, and neither should you. We need a HUGE game. On a slate with so many options in quality match-ups, you need about 80 from Harden here. While certainly possible, it’s very hard to rely on. The Pelicans are a very good match-up and Harden should have the opportunity to go nuts. Solomon Hill and Jordan Crawford will likely cover Harden and neither have a chance. If Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins can keep up with the Rockets insane 3 point shooting, I don’t think it’s impossible for Harden to go crazy. He has the match-up combined with the minutes and incentive. Harden is definitely a guy I will have exposure to, even if it’s somewhat limited.

Tim Hardaway Jr. $10,500

Kent Bazemore and Paul Millsap are still out for this game, so Hardaway can absolutely be locked in as a guy who will get at least 32 minutes. The Bucks are a pretty good match-up for Hardaway, as they have ranked in the bottom-third against both SG’s and SF’s since the start of the season. Hardaway has been shooting pretty well and Budenholzer has a ton of trust in him. This game will be extremely close and competitive as well, which means Hardaway will be needed to score. Bazemore and Millsap are both big offensive weapons and Hardaway has been a tremendous spark for the time being. I’m willing to play Hardaway in both cash games and tournaments.

Small Forward

Jimmy Butler $19,300

Butler is a guy I will probably target nearly every time he plays for the rest of the season. The Bulls have to win almost every game and Butler knows he has to do a lot for that to happen. He is the only offensive shot creator with Wade on the bench, which forces him to exert an insane amount of energy, as shown by Demar Derozan dropping 40 on him. I’m not sure who the Sixers will end up throwing at Butler, but it won’t work. Covington saw Butler down the stretch last game and Butler just went around and got to the rim with ease. Butler has a floor around 45 tonight with a ceiling over 65. He is a mini-Lebron that can really rack up the peripherals once he starts rolling.

Gary Harris $10,000

Gary Harris has finally been able to stay healthy for an extended amount of time. With that, he’s shown the world how good he can be. With over 30 fantasy points in basically every single game, you have to keep targeting him at this price. The Pacers are a pretty fast-paced team that love to push the ball at home. Monta Ellis is one of the worst defenders in the league and Harris should be able to dominate him on the offensive side of the ball. The Nuggets have been getting Harris and Jokic involved a ton, which is expected as they are two young guys with a real future. Harris is a supreme cash game and tournament plays. I’m willing to play him no matter the expected ownership.

Power Forward

Anthony Davis $21,450

The Rockets are a team that score a ton. The Pelicans don’t play much defense. If the Pelicans want to have any chance of staying in this one, Anthony Davis will have to have a huge game. He definitely can and has a few times in the past few weeks. The Rockets should be one of the better match-ups in the league for him, as they really have no true PF. Ryan Anderson is obviously a pushover and Davis will destroy him early. Nene and Clint Capela could also see some time on AD, but I just don’t see how they can stay with him at all on the perimeter. Davis is a huge mismatch for the Rockets and gives the Pels the best chance at this game. I will have him in both cash games and tournaments. AD is currently my favorite option on the slate.

Richaun Holmes $9,200

Holmes disappointed a lot of folks who targeted him last game with Jahlil Okafor questionable. Okafor ended up playing and Holmes got into early foul trouble. Finishing with only 12 fantasy points, let’s hope some people are scared off. He just hit 50 2 games ago, so this is obviously a guy you only want to target in tournaments. The Sixers will make sure to get him involved as the season ends and I expect around 28-32 minutes tonight. He is a tremendous rebounder and will be able to bully the interior of the Bulls. Holmes is still way too cheap on DraftDay and I will have a ton of exposure. If you watch these Sixers games, you would know why I’m so confident about this guy, especially in a match-up with the Bulls where they are expected to run and gun with Rondo.

Center

Dwight Howard $14,300

With Paul Millsap being ruled out for this game, Dwight Howard will be needed to control the paint. He has played well in Millsap’s absence, topping 35 fantasy points in each contest. The Bucks are pretty atrocious down low, with Thon Maker and Greg Monroe being the two guys that will be covering Howard. The Hawks have done a good job keeping Howard involved, giving him close to a 30% usage over the last 3. The price is pretty fair on DraftDay, where he will need to get you around 35-40 fantasy points in tournaments. The Bucks have ranked 27th against centers over the last 10 and Howard is a very safe option. I will have a ton of exposure in both cash games and tournaments.

Alex Len $8,900

It is well known that the Suns don’t think Alan Williams is the long-term answer. Management has been quoted many times saying he is a filler until Alex Len can get it together. While we don’t know if that’s what has happened, it might of. Len has put together 2 strong performances in a row, with B2B double-doubles and 30+ fantasy points. Len could easily go back to the bench here and play 12 minutes or stay in the starting lineup for the rest of the season. If Len does see the minutes tonight, he is guaranteed to produce. The Celtics are extremely weak down low and Len has shown his exquisite ability to rebound and score in the paint. If we get confirmation that Len is starting, feel free to plug him in everywhere.
