Tiger Woods Should Be Considered The Favorite For The US Open After Latest Win

By Riley Schmitt

Tiger Woods is not back just quite yet, but we are seeing more signs that it will happen sooner rather than later.  After a stunning charge on Sunday to win his 73rd career tournament, Woods should be looked at as the favorite for the US Open next week.  If he continues to hit shots like the one below, you can not stop him.

Tiger Woods is still struggling a bit on the greens but his iron play was fantastic on Sunday. Woods went three under on the last four holes and seemed to have a bit of his old swagger back.  He will have to find some consistency with the short stick before he can truly be considered back but all of this is encouraging.

Tiger Woods playing great is also great for the game.  The final round at the Memorial Tournament received its highest ratings in eight years.  This is what happens when Tiger Woods is in contention late in a tournament.  A lot of people do not like Tiger Woods, but you have to admit that he is good for the game of golf.  He brings a lot more interest to the sport than a lot of other people do.

Right now, Tiger Woods has to be the favorite going into the US Open.  He just looks like he has that swagger back.  Woods with swagger is a dangerous man to play golf against.  If he can continue this roll, we might see some more impressive wins from Eldrick soon.
