42 Year Old Dennis Miller Sinks Amazing Putt To Qualify For U.S. Open
When you hear the name Dennis Miller, a guy trying to qualify for the U.S. Open probably does not come to mind right away. The 42 year old guy from Youngstown, Ohio was in a qualifier for the U.S. Open. On the fourth playoff hole, Miller had a chance to advance. It looked like his 25 footer was going to hang on the lip, but when he turned away, it dropped in.
Dennis Miller did not even see the putt drop in. The reaction of the crowd let him know that his putt actually went in. I have only see one other shot like that before. Tiger Woods had a chip at the Masters that hung on the lip and eventually dropped. I would say that both are equally amazing for what they represent to each person.
That was a big putt for Dennis Miller. That was the 12th time that he has tried to qualify for the Open. Sinking that putt has allowed him to cash in on his dream. No matter how he finishes during the tournament, he will always have the memory of playing with some of the greats. Sinking an amazing putt will certainly help his celebrity grow.
The best part about this story is that Dennis Miller is not even a golf pro. He just happens to work at a golf course and he is good enough to play in the U.S. Open. That is the definition of a perfect story.
