Tiger Woods Has Impressive First Round At The US Open
Tiger Woods is finally starting to show signs of the golfer that we once knew. A solid first round at the US Open left him within a few shots of the lead after he finished his round. His driver and irons were solid and if he could have made a couple more putts, he would have had the first round lead. However, a -1 is nothing to sneeze at.
Let me clarify this first, though. Tiger Woods is not back. Tiger Woods will never be back to what we once saw. Those that witnessed it should be happy they did. That type of golfing dominance won’t be seen again. There are too many good golfers and Tiger is no longer that beast on the course.
That being said, when he is feeling good, Tiger Woods is still one of the best golfers in the world. He finally looks like he has stopped tinkering with everything. He is just out there playing golf. His biggest downfall was trying to completely revamp everything. That did not work.
Could things fall apart on Friday? Of course they could. That is what makes the US Open so fun to watch. You can never predict what is going to happen day to day. One guy can look great one day and then just awful the next. It affects every golfer.
Tiger Woods will never be “back”, but at least we can sit back and enjoy one of the best golfers every having a great round. If he wins the tournament, I think that’s a win for golf.
