Crazy Fan Interrupts Webb Simpson Trophy Presentation At US Open
The US Open was a great golf tournament to watch this year. Webb Simpson had a great Saturday and Sunday, which allowed him to win his first major. As Simpson was getting the trophy, a crazy fan decided to interrupt the presentation. He made a bunch of sounds before he was dragged away from the presentation.
All of that could not distract from Simpson winning his first major. He survived the course while others kept faltering. The fan must have appreciated his work as I can not for the life of me figure out what that fan was doing. I also have no idea how the people in charge could let that fan get that close to the ceremony. He certainly looked a bit off.
This is certainly one of the stranger things that I have ever seen. I have no idea what the guy had for motives. He may have been drunk or he may have been just a bit weary from the tournament. At least the security acted sort of quickly to get him out of the area. That is certainly a downfall for Webb Simpson trying to celebrate his first major.
Hopefully this does not take away from how great Webb Simpson was to win the title. Although the bigger names were in contention, he outlasted them all. He did not fall apart down the stretch like so many other people did. That is why he was able to win the Open.
