Well, it was only a matter of time, but “The Golf Boys” are at it again. For those of you that aren’t familiar with the concept, PGA Tour pros Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Ben Crane and Hunter Mahan got together into 2011 to form what is sure to not be the next pop music supergroup, calling themselves “The Golf Boys”. Their first single, “Oh, Oh, Oh” can be found on iTunes and YouTube.
It appears as if the guys are taking some time at the end of the 2012 PGA season to hit the studio again. Thankfully for golf fans, these guys are not quitting their day jobs in the hopes of touring with Justin Beiber. The proceeds from their musical endeavors go to charity.
Our vocal range is still limited, fashion sense questionable & rhythm non-existent… but that doesn’t stop us from dropping hits. #GolfBoys

In an attempt to blow off some steam from what I’m sure were incredibly intense recording sessions, the guys held an “ambidextrous quarterback competition”. Basically, they all had to throw a football with their non-dominant hand to see who looked the least ridiculous. Matt Kearney also took part in the competition, if you can call it that. The video is below, and as you can see for yourself, none of them will likely break into the NFL anytime soon.
Personally, I think things like this are great for golf. For entirely too long, golf has had the stigma of being a stuffy, white-collar sport for the rich. This turned many people off from the game even before they gave it a chance. It’s refreshing to see the younger generation of golfers doing things that ingratiate themselves the public and add some fun and excitement to the sport. It doesn’t hurt that their golf games are pretty solid, as well.
