Rory McIlroy Needs to Get Use to New Nike Clubs (video)
Unless if you just don’t care about the game of golf or sports for that matter, you would know that Rory McIlroy became the new Nike man. With that said, he has not gotten off to the best start to the season, but he did change his driver, woods, irons, putter, wedges and golf ball, which takes time to get use to, however, don’t count him out at the Honda Classic this weekend just yet.
Alright, we have to see this video just one more time because it is a classic–even though it is fairly new.
If only McIlroy was actually hitting his new Nike clubs like that. For anyone who has actually played golf before, it is not easy getting use to new clubs, however, McIlroy does have the luxury of playing golf every single day, since he kind of makes a living off of it and all.
The No. 1 golfer in the world did win a tournament back in November, but he missed the cut in the very next tournament at Abu Dhabi and then followed that up by getting beat in the first round of the Accenture Match Play. Those last two tournaments were, of course, after this commercial hit the internt. Just give McIlroy a chance to adjust to his clubs and get his mind right.
Going into the Honda Classic this weekend, McIlroy should fair better than he has in his last two tournaments. He did win the thing last year, even beating out Tiger Woods. This is the game of golf we are talking about. So although McIlroy has not been playing at his best–for obvious reasons–he could very well go off this weekend and hoist the trophy come Sunday for the second straight year.
