Defending FedEx Cup champion and the man that is currently at the top of those same FedEx Cup standings for 2013, Brandt Snedeker has set a date for his return. Snedeker has been sidelined with a rib injury since he took home a victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am at the beginning of February. He will return to action next week at Bay Hill for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Despite the fact that he was on the shelf for a good portion of he month, Sneds was also named the Avis PGA Tour Player of the Month for February. The timing couldn’t be better, because Snedeker will be back in plenty of time to get his game rounded into form for The Masters. Because of the time that he has taken off to rest his aching ribs, Snedeker should also be fresh and ready to go at Augusta.

“He’s always loved the Masters and felt he could compete there because of the emphasis on short game and putting,” Snedeker’s coach, Todd Anderson said. Anderson also went on to say that they will ease him back into things and focus a significant portion of their time on the short game, to ensure it’s ready for Augusta. Luckily for Snedeker, his injury hasn’t prevented him from working on his short game over the last few weeks.

Snedeker should be good to go by the time the Masters rolls around. He’ll also be able to play the next few events without a great deal of pressure, because nobody is expecting him to come back after a layoff of several weeks and contend right away. With the talent Snedeker has, however, he may do just that.
