Why His Relationship With Lindsey Vonn is Giving Tiger Woods a Boost
After being mired in an extended slump just a few short years ago, Tiger Woods has regained the number one spot in the official world golf rankings. He’s at the top of the current FedEx Cup standings. He has won 77 victories during his career and has spent the vast majority of that already storied career as the best golfer in the world.
A key component of his resurgence may very well be his newest love interest, Lindsey Vonn. It had been rumored for quite some time that the two were an item, and they just recently announced to the world that they are, in fact, a couple.
The importance of a stable home life cannot be overstated. Golf is a much a mental game as it is physical, if not more so. In order to be successful on the course, it is imperative that you are in the right frame of mind. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that many of Woods’ issues on the course came right around the time he was going through extremely public marriage issues with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren.
Vonn is not only helping Woods to reestablish some of that stability, but she is also giving him refuge from the daily grind of being a world famous athlete. She can help him get away from it all, so to speak. Perhaps even more importantly, Vonn is a world-class athlete in her own right, so she can relate to Woods. She can empathize with the trials and tribulations that he faces on a daily basis in the media spotlight and can offer advice, as well. That is something not many people, let alone girlfriends, have the ability to offer one of the greatest golfers to ever play the game.
