Elin Nordegren Takes Digs at Tiger Woods in Graduation Speech Video
What else did Elin Nordegren get from her divorce besides a dozen truckloads of Tiger Woods’ money? An eduction. The 34-year-old model graduated from Rollins College over the weekend with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and was asked to give speech after winning the Outstanding Graduation Senior award, and she didn’t try to hide her feelings toward Woods while she had the floor.
The video above is long and mostly boring, but the few times she took somewhat subtle digs at her ex-husband weren’t subtle to the sports world.
Nordegren said nothing has been consistent in her life over the last nine years besides her eduction. Just in case you were wondering, nine years ago was when she moved to America from here native Sweden right after she married Woods. She also put an exclamation point on that line by saying, “Education is the only that no one can take away from you.”
Tiger, she’s talking to you there. Oh, you already knew that? Carry on.
It’s probably very rare for a commencement speaker to mention a divorce, but Nordegren is a rare woman. She talked about getting married, having “two beautiful children” and moving to American before ending that particular thought with “but I am no longer married.”
As if any of us weren’t aware, she wanted to make sure everyone knew she’s done with Woods.
But the best part of the whole thing was her humorous line about a communications course she took at Rollins:
“It was right after I had taken Communication and the Media [class], I was unexpectedly thrust into the media limelight, and I probably should have taken more notes in that class.”
Indeed you should have, Elin. But we can’t thank you enough for finally coming out of your shell and providing us with this greatness on Tiger.
