Tiger Woods is still chasing Jack Nicklaus’ record and it would be great to see him get one major closer with a win at the 2014 British Open this weekend. With that said, who knows what we can expect out of him. Regardless, let’s take a look at five bold predictions for Tiger at Royal Liverpool.

5. Woods Will Get Off to a Fast Start in Round 1, But Won’t End Well

Tiger Woods may have missed the cut at his first tournament back, but he is still Tiger Woods. Expect the game’s most poplar golfer to get off to a fast start, but that fast start will go downhill towards the end of the day.

4. We Will Be Hearing About Him All Weekend

This one really isn’t that bold considering we are talking about Tiger Woods. Even if he has a bad tournament, we will be hearing about him all weekend. That tends to happen when a golfer has accomplished as much as Woods has.

3. He Will Fire Off At Least One Great Round

Tiger Woods still has all of the skills to put together a great round. So, fans can expect him to fire off at least one of those rounds at the Open. We will see how the course is playing once the tournament actually gets underway, but don’t expect Woods to just simply show up and that is it.

2. Woods Will Stay Relatively Consistent

Not all bold predictions have to be in sync with one another. With that said, Woods will stay relatively consistent all weekend. That doesn’t mean he is going to blow the field away or anything like that. He will just play some consistent golf.

1. Tiger Will Win the Open Championship

All other predictions aside, this is the most bold prediction for the simple fact that Tiger Woods has not won a major in a very long time. Throw in the fact that he is coming off back surgery and the odds of him actually winning goes even more down. Tiger has had an absolutely amazing career and he has been very, very dominant at times. If that was not the case, then people -- such as myself -- wouldn’t still predict him to win majors.
