It seems like it was just yesterday when Rory McIlroy was celebrating a win at the Open Championship. Well, he was celebrating a victory yesterday, but it was not the British Open. Up next will be the 2014 PGA Championship. With the tournament teeing off this week, let’s take a look at the five favorites to win.

Phil Mickelson did not win the Bridgestone this past weekend, but he did fire off a 62 in the final round. Mickelson has to carry that momentum into the PGA Championship, but the star is more than capable of taking home the hardware on Sunday.

4. Adam Scott

Adam Scott is no longer the No. 1 player in the world, but that is okay. It’s not like he is playing bad golf, Rory McIlroy has just been that good. Scott has finished in the top 10 in his last five tournaments. Two of those tourneys included majors.

3. Sergio Garcia

Sergio Garcia has been playing great golf as of late. He couldn’t quite nudge out Rory this past weekend, but he still took home silver. He also finished in second place at the Open not too long ago. Garcia is on the verge of winning, and that victory could come this weekend.

2. Rickie Fowler

Rickie Fowler is another golfer who is on the verge of winning. The youngster has finished in the top five in all three majors this year. He has finished in second in the last two majors. He also finished in the top 10 this past weekend.

Rory McIlroy has won the last two tournaments in a row. He is the No. 1 golfer in the world once again, and he will be the huge favorite entering the PGA Championship.
