Watching this was super difficult for anyone who has had their nerves get the better of them in the heat of competition. Just imagine wanting nothing more than to disappear underground but being obligated to award the trophy to the guy who benefited most from your misfortune. Yeah, describing that situation as awkward doesn’t do it justice. Jordan Spieth is mature beyond his years, to be sure, and his ability to laugh off nearly falling over on live TV after losing what seemed like a sure second green jacket was certainly proof.
