Lexi Thompson Earns Thrill of Victory After Skydiving at Kingsmill Championship

By Anthony Blake

It’s only May and this golf season has already been a whirlwind for LPGA golfer Lexi Thompson.

A ball marking penalty at the ANA Inspiration tournament cost Thompson her first major of the season, so she decided to bring a loose attitude into the Kingsmill Championship.

Yep, that was Thompson skydiving to her tee time with the help of the Navy SEALS, and she went on to shoot an opening round 65 after that.

And her dominance didn’t end there, as Thompson carried the lead wire to wire and broke Annika Sorenstam‘s tournament record of 19-under in 2008 by finishing at 20-under to claim her first major title.

Congrats to Thompson on bouncing back so quickly to win her first major.

Golf is all about mental toughness, and clearly this young woman has boatloads of it.
