Cornerback Brandon Underwood Pleads ‘Not Guilty’ in Case of Disorderly Conduct, Trial Set for September 27th
The associated press reports that Packers cornerback Brandon Underwood has pleaded not guilty to his charge of disorderly conduct. The incident occurred the night the Packers received their Super Bowl Championship rings. The police claim that Underwood ‘ripped a necklace off his wife and pushed her to the ground’ in their Green Bay home following the ceremony which was on July 16th.
Underwood’s wife has spoken publicly and has stated that the entire incident is ‘blown out of proportion’ and that despite filing for divorce in May, she has never been afraid of Brandon. They are still living together and are undergoing counseling.
Brandon Underwood was drafted by the Packers in 2009 in the 6th round (187th overall). He has seen limited playing time behind the starting corners.
The Packers organization are aware of these legal developments, but at this time have not released an official comment.
Underwood’s trial has been scheduled for September 27th.
