After maintaining their undefeated crown on Sunday afternoon, the Green Bay Packers now prepare for a bye following a 33-27 victory over the Minnesota Vikings this week.

On game day, several Packer players earned nominations for this weeks’ game ball, but after Aaron Rodgers stormed the ballot box consecutively in the past six weeks, this time it goes to running back James Starks.

Rushing for 75-yards against a broken Vikings secondary, Starks may not have matched Adrian Peterson’s strong effort on the ground, but his performance during the end of the fourth quarter earns him this week’s ball.

Starks went without a touchdown on Sunday, but following a Vikings fourth quarter rally, three big time runs through Minnesota’s defensive line sealed the deal for the Packers. Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier chose to punt the ball away on 4th and 10 instead of giving rookie quarterback Christian Ponder a chance, but the move proved to be costly for the Vikings in the end.

What was more surprising than Sunday’s finish however, was the Packers offensive line. Marshall Newhouse struggled on defensive end Jared Allen all day, but despite giving up two sacks, Starks had no trouble finding gaps to run through.

Other nominees could include Charles Woodson, who recorded two interceptions. Rodgers was once again hard to overlook after throwing just six incompletions, but really, we’re running out of good things to say about the Packers passing game.
