Houston Astros Sign OF Jack Cust to One-Year Deal

The Houston Astros have signed outfielder Jack Cust to a one-year, $600,000 deal. This deal also includes a club option for 2013. The deal is also reported as a non-guaranteed, major league deal by MLB.com’s Brian McTaggart.

Cust batted .213/.334/.329 last season with three homers and 23 RBI before being released by the Seattle Mariners. Cust will hope to provide some pop off the Astros bench as his days in the outfield look to be numbered since he spent the past few seasons as a designated hitter.
