Coming off of their longest span between games so far this season, the Pacers began a three-game California road trip with a disappointing 88-92 loss Wednesday night in Sacramento. Indiana had not played a game since soundly defeating the Celtics 97-83 at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse last Saturday night. By the end of this week, the Pacers will have played west coast away games against the Kings, the Warriors, and the Lakers.

Sacramento is the NBA’s youngest team, at an average age of 24, with ten players younger than 26 years old. Wednesday night, the young Kings played like full grown men, coming back from 16 points down to literally steal the victory away in the game’s final minutes. Indiana led 80-64, but gave up a 26-8 run in the fourth quarter, totally falling apart on both sides of the ball.

The Pacers had more turnovers than points in the fourth quarter. Indiana gave the ball away 9 times, and had a total of 19 turnovers for the game. The Kings grabbed an astounding 30 offensive rebounds, 12 of which were pulled down by starting center, Demarcus Cousins. Cousins had double figures in points and rebounds, scoring 13 and snagging 19 total rebounds.

The Pacers continue their west coast road trip on Friday, as they look to bounce back against the NBA’s second-youngest team, the Golden State Warriors.
