Although it is extremely early for such declarations, Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Indianapolis Colts will take Andrew Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.  Jim Irsay, the owner of the Colts, believes that Luck is too good to pass up.

This plan could easily change, but it does make sense.  No one is certain what will happen with Peyton Manning.  It’s conceivable that he has played his last game in the NFL.  Neck injuries are tricky to deal with and there is no benefit to Manning risking his future for one or two more shots in the NFL.

Plans in the NFL always change.  However, Luck looks like a sure thing coming out of Stanford and he’s going to make the Colts or any other team very happy for the next ten years.
