The most recent Heisman trophy winner and Junior from Baylor University, Robert Griffin III, is projected to be selected somewhere behind Andrew Luck from Stanford.

This past Sunday at the combine Robert Griffin III had the fastest time for a quarterback since Michael Vick in 2001. He added that with a 38 inch vertical leap, and a 10 foot broad jump. He impressed everyone and was in a class of his own. Honestly, he really should have done well as it was pretty much a track event, and he was a track star in high school and college, so no surprise there.

There was also no surprise here either, after RG3 did so well, it got some talks going. Is Luck really the best choice for the Indianapolis Colts? With the first pick in April the Colts hold the future of both these kids in their hands.

So the speculation will be out there, and it will vary will many different ideas. In fact I heard a rumor today that the first pick was traded to the eagles for Desean Jackson and other picks. Rumors like this one will be just the start of it; you really have to have a good sense of humor when it comes to some of the stuff. Why in the world would the Colts give up Luck or RG3 for that pre-madonna Desean Jackson.

The biggest talk and understandably so, is the idea of the Indianapolis Colts taking the athletic, exciting RG3, over Luck. Andrew Luck is a solid, starter ready, quarterback that has the potential to be a future pro-bowler. With RG3, you can’t guarantee that his play will translate over to the NFL.

So as much fun as this is to hear all the talk about the Colts taking RG3, it won’t happen! There is no way that Jim Irsay has the guts to draft the Baylor graduate. He will draft Andrew Luck and he will either sit behind Peyton Manning or he will be replacing the future hall of famer in 2012.

Indianapolis for years have been labeled a “soft” team, and a team that has steered clear of controversy. If any time would be the time that Jim Irsay should grow a pair, it is now in drafting RG3. He needs to live on the wild side for once and get off his “safe horse”. For years the Colts have done the safe thing and draft players that are a sure thing. The players, except maybe a few, ended up being mediocre players. They filled the stands when they won games, and when they were successful.

When Jim Irsay and the front office of the Colts, go into the draft room in April, all the Colts fans will hope they make the right decision, but don’t get your hopes up. The Colts have a reputation of a safe team for a reason, even though RG3 would give the Colts the best chance to win right away. Let’s be serious; can you imagine how fast the home and away games would sell out, just to see RG3 play quarterback. In actuality Jim Irsay would be boosting his company just by drafting RG3.

Andrew Luck is solid, Robert Griffin III is exciting.

Who would you pay to see play football?

I believe Colts fans find winning thrilling enough… let’s face it Peyton Manning is not Mr. Excitement. I’ve not read any of your previous articles that I can recall, but I fell for the headline when I should have known better… there is no reasoned bases for picking RG over Luck… but I was at least hoping for a morsel of brain food. Not a crumb.
Of the two QB’s Luck’s athleticism was the bigger surprise to most… he was hardly outclassed by RG as you say, Luck out jumped RG and was only 3″ lower on the vertical.
I’ve wasted tooo much time here already.
    Cheers

RG3 is the better football player, bottom line.

Imagine yourself as a defensive coordinator, who would you have a harder time creating a game plan for? A guy who can throw with the best of them but can’t run that well. Or, someone who is a dual threat? For years Vick was a player that no one wanted to face, and RG3 is much better than he was coming out of college.

Luck will be drafted but only because he is the safe bet, Griffin faced harder defenses in college and he had the nations top completion percentage. Baylor was a team that did not dink and dump it off to their running backs either.

It is starting to become the new age quarterback, and RG3 is exactly that, how can the Colts possibly pass up on him? We haven’t seen a qb like him in the past, similar but not like him.

So if you were gm of the Colts, you would draft Luck? And pass on potentially the most unique player to come out of college?

RG3 is the better pick hands down… There is no such thing as NFL ready until you go out on the field & do it… You guys kill me with these articles… RG3 has excelled in every aspect of the game & won the heisman… I’m a die hard Colts fan & will be no matter who they pick but would love to see Griffen III in the Blue & White…!!!

I would also love to see RG3 in a Colts uniform. He is something special and what he will do on the football field is something we all will talk about for years to come. Luck was the for sure pick since last May when they were talking about the 2012 draft. After the combine and after watching him this season why wouldn’t he be the first pick? I believe RG3, would be more willing to sit behind Manning(if there is a Manning in Indianapolis).
Who would you like the Colts to get with their 2nd round pick?
