The Jaguars take the field for the first time in 2011 on Thursday night against the New England Patriots.  Here is what to look for while watching the game.

1. Blaine Gabbert!- This will be Jaguars fans first chance to get a look at their new quarterback in a real game situation.  It is unclear how long Gabbert will play, but it will be interesting to see how he handles his first NFL experience.

2. Who is going to catch passes?- The biggest story coming out of the Jaguars scrimmage last week was the wide receivers failing to create separation.  There are several wide receivers who are fighting for a couple of roster spots.  The Jags will be without rookies Armon Binns and Cecil Shorts tonight, but it will be interesting to see if any of the wide receivers show some promise.

3. How does the pass rush look?-  Aaron Kampman is not playing which will give the young guys plenty of opportunity to rush the quarterback.  Guys like Austen Lane and Larry Hart are going to be important if the Jaguars plan on improving their sack totals in 2011.

4. Who is going to play opposite Dawan Landry?- Landry has one starting safety spot locked down, but there is a wide open competition for who will be his partner at safety.  Courtney Greene and Chris Prosinski are the favorites, but Prosinski is not going to play tonight.

5. Rust- Teams have only been practice together for two weeks, so I expect to see some sloppy play tonight.

No predictions because it doesn’t matter who wins tonight.  The ideal outcome would be to avoid any serious injuries.
