5 Free Agents that the Kansas City Chiefs Should Sign
1. Tim Hightower RB The Chiefs need a running back for depth. The Chiefs like speed backs. Jones can be a power back who runs to the inside while Jamaal Charles is an elusive back who runs to the outside. Hightower is a pass catching back who averaged 4.8 yards per carry. Hightower had 10 rushing touchdowns during his rookie year as a #2 back behind Edgerin James in Arizona. Hightower had great success when Todd Haley was the Cardinals offensive coordinator in Arizona. Hightower is an option for the Chiefs if they want depth at running back since Shane Bannon should start at fullback.
2. Jared Gaither LT Gaither is a talented left tackle when healthy, but durability issues are the main concern. Gaither could start with Branden Albert filling in when Gaither gets injured.
3. Willie Colon RT Willie Colon fits the Chiefs run blocking scheme and is one of the top free agents available.
4. Olin Kreutz C Kreutz fits the Chiefs run blocking scheme and having Rodney Hudson sit behind Kreutz for a few years would help with the development of Hudson.
5. Deunta Williams FS North Carolina Deunta Williams went undrafted and was the top free safety prospect in the country at one point. Pairing him up next to strong safety Eric Berry would give the Chiefs a very deadly secondary.
