Which walk ons and undrafted players will end up making the Kansas City Chiefs Final Roster
I’ll list every Chiefs player that got signed today by going undrafted.
Demond Washington CB Auburn Makes the roster The Chiefs have Brandon Flowers as their #1 cornerback, Brandon Carr as the secondary cornerback who contains #2 wide receiver options, Javier Arenas as the nickel cornerback, Jalil Brown as the dime cornerback, and have now added a Demond Washington as a quarter cornerback as that #5 cornerback on the Chiefs depth chart. Teams have a minimum of 4 cornerbacks on their depth chart, but some teams have up to 10 cornerbacks on their depth chart entering training camp. The Chiefs have 5 cornerbacks now so they have a secondary that can be effective in nickel, dime, or quarters situations if their younger cornerbacks learn the coverage schemes.
David Mims LT Virginia Union Makes the roster The Chiefs have 6 offensive lineman on their roster with 1 starter at every position on the offensive line except the right guard position where they have 2 right guards on the active roster. Mims gives the Chiefs some offensive line depth at left tackle behind Branden Albert. The circumstances for Mims making the roster may change if the Chiefs sign a left tackle in free agency.
Mike Ingersoll RT North Carolina Makes the roster The Chiefs add more depth to their offensive line by obtaining a right tackle for depth.
Chris Harr LG Tennessee Chattanooga Makes the roster Kansas City is thin at offensive line depth which is why Chris Harr will make the roster when everything is said and done.
Lucas Patterson RE Texas A/M Does not make the roster Patterson is a 6 foot 4 293 pounds I don’t see how he fits into a 3-4 scheme seeing that defensive end and defensive tackle are his two main positions.
Josue Paul WR Connecticut State Does not make the roster Paul is a wide receiver, fullback, and kick returner. I don’t see how he makes the roster given the fact that he has no clear cut position.
Brandon Bair 3-4 RE Oregon Does not make the roster Bair is a 5 technique. The problem is the Chiefs are stacked with 3-4 defensive ends. Bair has the talent to be on the Chiefs final 53 man roster, but I just don’t see him getting a spot with all the depth that the Chiefs have at the defensive end spot with two top 5 picks from LSU along with Wallace Gilberry who recorded 7 sacks and Allen Bailey a rookie that the Chiefs drafted in the 4th round.
