Royals Shake Up Rotation – Promote Lefty Danny Duffy!
Royals Treatment has repeatedly suggested that Kansas City re-evaluate their rotation and further the 2011 youth movement by bringing up some more of their top prospects.
Well, following Vin Mazzaro’s 14-run drubbing as an emergency injury replacement for Kyle Davies on Monday night, the team announced that Sean O’Sullivan will be shifted up a day to make the start in the series finale against the Indians, and that 22-year old Danny Duffy will make his debut with the Royals on Wednesday night against the Texas Rangers.
Duffy was the Royals 3rd-round pick in 2007. He’s made 7 starts at AAA Omaha this year, posting a 3-1 record with a 3.00 ERA. Impressively, Duffy has chalked up 43 strikeouts but just 10 walks in 36 innings. Excellent command.
Preview Duffy’s Wednesday start and the rest of the Rangers series on Wednesday on RoyalsTreatment.com!
