Manny Ramirez named NL Player of the Month

Earlier today Manny Ramirez was named the NL Player of the Month. This was Manny’s first month with the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he has helped bring them back into contention for the NL West. Ramirez was acquired from the Boston Red Sox at the trade dead line in July.
In the month of August, Ramirez hit .415 with nine home runs, and 25 runs batted in. The .415 batting average was the highest single month average of his career.
He had back-to-back four hit games for the first time in his career as well.
The Houston Astros’ Ty Wigginton, the St. Louis Cardinals’ Albert Pujols, the Milwaukee Brewers’ Mike Cameron, the Chicago Cubs’ Mark DeRosa and the Atlanta Braves’ Martin Prado also received votes.
