Los Angeles Kings Release 2011-12 Preseason Schedule
The Los Angeles Kings have released the schedule for the 2011-12 preseason, according to the team’s official website.
The brief exhibition campaign consists of seven games. Play begins for L.A. Sept. 21 versus the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena in Glendale, Ariz.
Half an hour later, they will also take on the Coyotes at Staples Center for their first home game of the preseason. Perhaps I should mention these two games are part of a split-squad session.
The Kings’ preseason play in the U.S. features one game each in Arizona, Kansas City, Mo., Denver, Las Vegas and Anaheim, Calif. Plus, they will play two games at Staples Center.
Tickets for the games in Kansas City (versus the Pittsburgh Penguins) and Las Vegas (against the Colorado Avalanche) — both considered Kings’ home games — are already on sale. Tickets for the games in L.A. are currently set to go on sale Aug. 18.
They will be playing the Coyotes, Avalanche and Anaheim Ducks two times each and the Penguins once for seven games in all against NHL opponents.
The Kings will also leave North America to take on the Hamburg Freezers of the German Elite League in Hamburg, Germany.
That will conclude the preseason as they gear up to open the 2011-12 regular season with two games in Europe.
