Classic moments in Kings, Canucks game
There are a few things that I feel need to be addressed from the Kings shootout victory against the Canucks last night…
1. Our favorite, Dustin Penner
– A fan brought a bottle of Aunt Jemima syrup to the game to poke fun at Penner. Guess it wasn’t funny after he scored the first goal of the night, was it Canucks fans?
– He scored his first goal in the last 17 games. He tends to get the puck in the net after he’s been injured and the assist from Doughty seems to be working quite nicely for him. Now I’m just waiting for Doughty to score some goals himself.
2. Darryl Sutter
– Everyone needs to take a look at his suit. I’m hoping that the plaid, or any other wild pattern for that matter, continues to make appearances throughout the rest of the season. It’s just great to look at.
3. Henrik Sedin
– After the game, he admitted that the Canucks “executed poorly” against the Kings. That’s right, Vancouver admitted to a mistake without making up reasons as to why they are better than their opponent. A first for the most friendly and beloved team in the NHL.
well… almost…
4. Alain Vigneault
– He was quoted by Fox Sports saying there was “one team on the ice and one goaltender.” He admitted the Kings had a better team last night, but said Luongo was the better goalie. He may have had the better save percentage, but Quick had 8 less shots come his way and only let one shootout goal go in while Luongo let in two. So let’s not pat ourselves on the back too much, boys. And to top it off, Quick was the one who got the win.
Since that’s now off my chest, I’m really looking forward to tomorrow’s game against the Flames. Keep those wins coming!
