Last night, Kings’ center Jarret Stoll suffered an injury to his abductor muscle against the Panthers, sending him to the I.R. list. He said he felt his hip start to bother him in the second period and knew to get off the ice before the damage became worse. Stoll will be out of the lineup for at least one week but is ready to work hard to return to the ice as quickly as possible.

Although he hasn’t been a huge goal scorer this season, Stoll has stood out in other ways, performing well in face offs and maintaining a high shooting percentage.

The Kings have now called up Dwight King and Jordan Nolan from the Monarchs to replace Stoll, as well as Slava Voynov who was sent to play in Manchester. King has had 11 goals and 18 assists in his past 50 games, making him second on the team in points. Nolan also hasn’t been shy on the ice, scoring 9 goals and 13 assists in his last 40 games and first full season with the Monarchs. This will be his first time appearing in an NHL game.

I think this shakeup of players will actually do the Kings some good after the tough game played in Florida last night. They clearly need a change up in the lines and taking a closer look at Manchester (in my opinion) is a great first option, rather than diving into trades before the deadline.
