Dolphins Treading Hot Water
Brown was arrested and charged for DUI after failing to signal while changing lanes last Saturday night. Brown, a restricted free agent, is 28 years old.
It’s been a relatively tough off-season for the Miami Dolphins, legally speaking, and now the Miami Dolphins find themselves in hot water.
But it was probably Tony Sparano’s temper that began to boil over after reading the recent police reports involving his players. Now that’s one mustache I wouldn’t want in my face!
Even though football czar Bill Parcells and co. have brought in an honest, working-class mentality to South Florida football, some of the players (young and old) still can’t resist the temptations that go along with one of America’s top party hotspots. So goes the story of the Miami Dolphins off-season full of arrests, allegations, and drama.
It all started when defensive tackle and former Tennessee Volunteer Tony McDaniel was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery after allegedly attacking his girlfriend during a dispute. Shortly after, veteran cornerback Will Allen got hit with a DUI just a couple of days after he declared that he would be a starter for the Dolphins this season despite the knee injury that kept him out much of last season.
It’s OK, Will, you still be a starter on my 2010 flip-cup team, as long as you call a limo in advance.
It really started piling on when another veteran, 35-year-old Jason Ferguson, was suspended for eight games after violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing supplements. Although Ferguson adamantly denies taking steroids, this was the second time Ferguson has been suspended for violating the same policy (the first suspension took place with the Jets in 1999 when Ferguson tested positive for a banned substance called Nandrolone, an anabolic steroid).
Good thing for Jason that I follow the three-strikes-you’re-out method; so I’ll let this one slide as long as you don’t make the Dolphins regret resigning you to a one-year contract.
