With Peyton Manning now on the market for a new team, several NFL teams are hoping to see the All Pro quarterback wearing their helmet, despite the fact that he missed all of last season due to injury.
Here are 5 reasons why Peyton should choose the Dolphins:
Joe Philbin-  There is no question of the success that Philbin had as an offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers. He not only helped mold Aaron Rodgers into the offensive force that is our reining MVP, but promotes a system that has made backup quarterback Matt Flynn a hot commodity this off season. With a head coach that has a proven track record of bettering his quarterback, Manning would have a hard time finding a coach that would be as beneficial to his return to the game.

Receiving Core-  The wide receiver position in Miami has enough talent to make any quarter back successful, let alone one of Manning’s caliber.  Pro Bowl MVP Brandon Marshall is an extreme talent, who is under contract with the Dolphins through 2014, and would be the type of target that could enable Peyton to surpass his former level of excellence.  Behind Marshall on the depth chart is Davone Bess, who is a reliable wide out, willing to make plays in the middle of the field who has big play potential every time he touches the ball.  To make the situation even sweeter, Reggie Wayne has also come out saying that he would love to play with Manning in Miami, which would make Manning’s transition into a new offense just that much easier.

Jake Long-   What could help ease the mind of a man coming back from an injury like having a four time Pro Bowler guarding your blind side?  Jake Long is that guy for the Miami Dolphins.  The all Pro tackle is only the fourth number one overall pick to be elected to the Pro Bowl in his second season, and he has been elected every year since.  Manning would have the extra peace of mind knowing that the former Michigan standout has proven himself to be one of the very best at that position.  Long was also a big part of the Dolphins’ success on the ground last season.  Reggie Bush was able to have a breakout season, while staying relatively injury free, and rookie Daniel Thomas showed signs of being a promising talent, helping to share the workload with Bush.  A solid running attack, and a couple of backs that are able catch, would be a nice extra for Manning to have at his disposal.

Tradition-  The Dolphins boast a rich history that would appeal to a man like Peyton Manning.  The only team in NFL history to have a perfect season, the Dolphins have played in 5 Super Bowls, their last of which was in the 1984 -85 season.  It was a battle of NFL Legends, as Miami’s Dan Marino threw for over 300 yards in the game, but lost to Joe Montana and the San Francisco 49ers.  You would have to go back 39 years to find the last title that was won by the Dolphins, one of the longest active droughts in football.  The challenge of bringing the glory back to Miami would be an added incentive to Manning, making Miami even more appealing to the 6 time AFC Player of the Year.

It’s Miami-  What more needs to be said?  The city is a great sports destination, with the Marlins poised to make a splash in the MLB, the Heat on the verge of a dynasty run in the NBA, and the Dolphins just a good quarterback away from being a major force in the NFL.  It is sunny, and inviting, and everyone wants to be in South Beach.  Manning already has ties to the area, and the fans are ready to welcome him as their savior, having erected a billboard welcoming him to town weeks before his release from the Colts.  The town is full of star power and among the stars, none would shine brighter than Manning.

Over the next few days, Manning will visit several different NFL franchises and listen to their sales pitch, and while there may be a few options out there for the 4x NFL MVP,  Miami should be able to offer Manning the best chance to win another Super Bowl.  In the end, that is all that it should take to get Manning to choose Miami.
