Washington Nationals On the Rise

The Washington Nationals are the current favorites to land the aforementioned Prince Fielder. I already like their team as it is, but if they land the slugging first baseman they will emerge as serious World Series contenders - on paper at least.

There are still some moves that can be made - signing Fielder in particular - that could shift the balance of power in the division. There is no argument that the Miami Marlins improved the overall quality of their roster. I'm just not sure they improved it to a level that is superior to anyone in their division aside from the New York Mets.
