Report: Vikings Latest Team to Turn Down HBO’s ‘Hard Knocks’
It’s been a tough last couple of weeks for HBO as they’ve struggled to find a team to participate on the 2011 version of Hard Knocks. While numerous teams have already turned down the chance to appear on the hit show this upcoming season, there’s apparently one more team that can be added to that list–the Minnesota Vikings.
In a recent interview with Dave Orrick of the Pioneer Press, Vikings owner Zygi Wilf discussed how he declined an offer from HBO to appear on Hard Knocks this season–mainly because the team has more important things to focus on this offseason. Not only is the organization waiting for the lockout to end like the rest of the NFL, but the Vikings are in the process of trying to get a new stadium and make sure they can stay in Minnesota.
Rumors have swirled over the last few weeks about Minnesota being a likely candidate to move to Los Angeles–who has expressed strong interest in gaining a football team again. With all of this in mind, it’s no wonder why Wilf wants the organization to focus on the more important issues instead of bringing HBO on board for training camp next season.
