Adrian Peterson Wants Vikings to Sign Plaxico Burress
Former New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress has been quite the popular topic since his release from prison earlier this month. While numerous teams have already expressed interest in bringing Burress on board, there’s one player that recently stated he would love to have the wideout to be part of his team–Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
In a recent interview with John Holler of Scout.com, Peterson discussed numerous topics ranging from how impressed he was with rookie quarterback Christian Ponder to the reaction from fans if the Vikings moved to Los Angeles. However, the most interesting part of the interview may be when Peterson discussed Burress and how he would love for him to end up in Minnesota.
From Holler’s article:
“I would love him to be a part of my team,” Peterson said. “He’s a guy – before he left the game for two years – he was one of the top receivers in the league. You look at [Eagles quarterback Michael] Vick, when he came out [of federal prison], how explosive he was. I’m sure he [Burress] is going to be on fire and he’ll be ready to contribute to whatever team picks him up.”
With the status of Sidney Rice up in the air, the Vikings may be looking to add another weapon in the passing game–but whether or not that player ends up being Burress is debatable considering the team’s lack of interest. But if the team’s best player wants him on board, you would think Minnesota would do everything they can to get Burress on board, right?
