Sabathia’s No-Hit Bid Broke up With Four Outs to Go
New York Yankees Pitcher CC Sabathia had his no-hitter broken up in the 8th inning last night with two outs. Four outs to go and Sabathia would have been in the history books.
There were several gold glove plays all around Sabathia as Mark Texiera made a diving snag at first base, A-Rod got the speedy BJ Upton with a diving play down the third base line, and finally a ball that went off of CC’s pitching hand landed in Robinson Cano’s fielding area where he was able to make the play.
In only his second start of the season this was great production for the big left hander. Unfortunately he was not able to get the remaining four outs. The Yankees won the contest 10-0 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
