Julio Teheran To Pitch In Futures Game
Julio Teheran, one of the Braves’ top pitching prospects, has been selected to play for the World team in MLB’s annual Futures Game, an event which showcases baseball’s best prospects.
Considered one of the top pitching prospects in all of baseball as well as one of the pitching-rich Braves best prospects, Teheran has been outstanding all year long, posting a 2-2 record and a microscopic 1.14 ERA in seven starts for the Class A Rome Braves and a 3-1 record and 1.38 ERA in six starts for High-A Myrtle Beach.
The 19-year old Teheran is 5-3 with a 1.26 ERA and 94 strikeouts in 13 total starts and 78 and 1/3 innings pitched, while holding opposing hitters to a .196 batting average.
This year’s Futures Game will be held on July 12th at Angel Stadium in Anaheim.
