The Toronto Blue Jays have placed relief pitcher David Purcey (0-1/2.81 ERA/.185BAA in 24 appearances) on the 15-day DL.

Purcey has been experiencing lingering effects from an ankle injury that he sustained last week, thus forcing the the Jays to make the decision to place him on the 15-day disabled list.

The Jays have summoned RP Jesse Carlson from AAA Las Vegas as a left-handed specialist in the bullpen.

Carlson, who was a common sight to see for Blue Jays fans during the 2008 and 2009 season, has been playing in the minors with Las Vegas this entire season; where he has amassed a record of 3W-1 L/4.24 ERA/43 K’s/4SV’s in 51 innings of work.
