So, the Red Sox have picked up Big Papi’s $12.5 million option for next season. The team also could have signed Ortiz to a multi-year deal or gone in another direction and pursued younger options like Adam Dunn.

Not that it’s earth shattering news, but we now know that Papi is back in Boston’s lineup for 2011. If you were Theo Epstein, would you have done the same thing? Vote now!
