It’s not so bad. Is it?

We all know that overused statement “If you love something set it free… yada, yada, yada…? Well I think of the Rays and my feelings of post season blues relate to this cliché. We love you and we’re setting you free. We also sort of don’t have a choice. So, bye, guys! Make us proud. But NOT too proud…
I’ll admit. It stung seeing Burrell in the post season. I liked him… ummm enough, but still I found myself saying congrats San Fran except Pat! Which isn’t very nice, but I’m an honest girl! That’s just how I felt. I was torn and like any other Rays fan, I found myself watching the games of course and rooting for all kinds of players. Happy for Aubrey Huff. (One of our ex’s). As a Seminole fan, I was pulling for Buster. Having a bitter sweet moment for Hamilton and respect for the Rangers. All the while NOT having it in me to root for any team, as a whole.

With Thanksgiving approaching, I can’t believe it’s only been a month and half or so since The Rays last took the field. I swear the memory of Kinsler skipping down first base is burned into my retina’s for life. The 109th annual Baseball Winter Meetings are from December 6 – 9th. The gathering of execs will take place at Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort near Orlando, FL. This is right around the corner. If you have a mental calendar of holidays and months in your head, like me, anything that is “before the holidays” is quickly upon us!

This meaning we will be at Spring Training before we know it. Chalking 2010 up to another great year that we will treasure. We will always miss the last good thing. It’s normal, I believe in this Baseball relationship. I don’t like it, but it’s part of the process. It’s sort of like seeing one of your ex’s at a wedding. You have mutual friends. You hear about what the other is “up to,” it’s all good, but it’s also very over. It’s just over… We are sad, then we move onto our next relationships. For example Desmond Jennings, OF; Jeremy Hellickson, RHP; our ongoing status with John Jaso… We’re excited for these and will be watching all winter…

Our first big breakup this year was Benoit. Much respect for this guy. Known for being calm and cool. Always classy, Soriano’s wing man. Reliever Joaquin Benoit gone to the Tigers for the tune of 3 years and $16.5-million, Joaquin said he wanted to make a comment thanking his former team. Ugh…

Thanks.

I have faith 2011 is going to be a great year. I can be positive of this because of our strength as a team. If you’ve been a fan as long as I have, you were yelling “GO RAYS”, long before people knew who we were here in Tampa Bay! Now we’re making headlines. We’re being talked about and are looked at now as serious contenders. More annoying clichés “They” also say: “There’s no such thing as bad publicity”… I beg to differ. Oh well, we’ll see… ’til next time.

Ciao, Jenny
