Jamie Moyer is an inspiration to all professional athletes and adults around the country—simply because he is the perfect example how age doesn’t matter. At 48, Moyer recently expressed his desire to return to baseball in 2012.
Last July, Moyer suffered an elbow injury while with the Philadelphia Phillies and recently underwent Tommy John surgery. The procedure usually cause 12-18 months worth of rehab—which means Moyer could return in time for spring training before the 2012 season if a team is willing to give him a chance.
Moyer is 267-204 in his 23-year career and displayed some impressive performances during his 9-9 run last season with the Phillies—including two games where he allowed just two hits. If he can do that at 48, there’s every reason in the world to believe Moyer has what it takes to have a successful rehab and play at least one more season—whether it’s with the Phils or a different team.
