More on the possible trade of Matt Garza
Obviously the news of the possible trade of Matt Garza to the Chicago Cubs is a very fluid situation. Some reports floating around the internet include five players, other reports state that the trade could be an 8 player deal. The names of the players that the Chicago Cubs would sent to the Tampa Bay Rays include, Chris Archer, Hak-Ju Lee, Brandon Guyer and Robinson Chirinos.
Chris Archer is a 6’3 180 RHP who went 8-2 with a 1.80 ERA in 70 innings of AA ball last season. He was orignally selected in the 2006 MLB draft by the Cleveland Indians.
Hak-Ju Lee has drawn rave reviews at the shortstop position despite being only 19 years of age. He is a left handed bat and is reported to have tremendous fielding skills.
Brandon Guyer has played all three outfield positions in the Cubs farm system. He finished the season with a .344 batting average in just over 400 at bats. He played AA ball in 2010.
Robinson Chirinos (INF) will be 27 in June of this season, he has spent the last nine seasons in the Cubs farm system where he has recorded a .260 overall batting average. Last season he played both at the AA and AAA level and posted a .326 BA with 18 HR and 74 RBI’s.
As I’ve mentioned this is a fluid situation and there have been reports of possibly up to eight players being involved, so stay tuned as details emerge.
