Atlanta Braves’ Julio Teheran top pitching prospect in baseball
Baseball America released their top 100 prospects today. The Atlanta Braves were well represented. It was no surprise that Julio Teheran led the way for the Braves, as most consider him the top prospect in their farm system.
What may come as a surprise is that he was ranked the top pitching prospect in all of baseball. He was rated the 5th best prospect, ahead of Jeremy Hellickson of the Tampa Bay Rays and Aroldis Chapman of the Cincinnati Reds. It does not surprise anyone in the Braves’ organization. It reveals how good they have gotten in developing their young arms.
Teheran was ranked behind Bryce Harper of the Washington Nationals, Mike Trout of the Anaheim Angels, Jesus Montero of the New York Yankees and Dominic Brown of the Philadelphia Phillies.
The Braves’ organization was well represented as they had six players named to the list. In addition to Teheran, Freddie Freeman is ranked 17th, Randall Delgado is ranked 35th, Mike Minor is ranked 37th, Craig Kimbrel is ranked 86th and Arodys Vizcaino is ranked 93rd.
