69-year old Pete Rose, baseball’s all-time hit leader and a key member of the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies world champion team, is divorcing his wife of 27 years.
Rose cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.
Rose wants his wife to pay for her own attorney but says he is willing to pay for spousal support.
He and his wife, Carol, were married in April of 1984, when she was a cheerleader for the Philadelphia Eagles and he was still playing for the Philadelphia Phillies.
They had a son and a daughter, who are both in their 20s now.
